Here at the Good Friends Team, we believe it’s vital to give back to the community in any way you can. As the holiday season approaches, there are tons of ways to help out those in need, and we’re happy to be participating in Giving Tuesday this year!
Giving Tuesday — referred to on social media channels as #GivingTuesday — originated in New York City and was created by the Belfer Center for Innovation and Social Impact. The aim of the initiative is to connect people all over the world with various charities, using social media as a launching point for spreading the word.
Since its inception in 2012, Giving Tuesday has grown to over 150 countries, raised over 300 million dollars, and garnered over 21 billion social media impressions. There are dozens of Charleston charities and organizations that are participating in the event. Look into a few options below, and see what ways you can help your community on November 27th!
